Grantmaker Research & Grant Writing
I am available to research private grantmakers and government funding sources, create a strategic fundraising plan for your organization, compose grant proposals, and more.
For nonprofits with limited experience in the grant application process, my services include a fundraising readiness assessment, followed by the creation of an application strategy and calendar.
I will support your organization with in-depth grantmaker prospect research, using subscription-based databases that allow me to access thousands of private grantmakers and government funding sources.
My writing services include fundraising boilerplate and specific grant proposals, proofreading and editing, grant writing consultations, and assistance with accompanying documentation.
RELATIONSHIP-BASED GRANT WRITING
While you can hire some grant writers on a project-by-project basis, I prefer to develop a deeper relationship with my clients and provide long-term support. I am passionate about joining a team and being a part of measurable change in local communities.
To facilitate long-term relationships, I offer packages that provide my clients with the opportunity to purchase grant proposals “in bulk” with a discounted rate per proposal.
I will get to know your organization/business by interviewing both staff and the individuals you support so that I can better tell the unique story of your nonprofit.
If you are a startup, I will help you assess whether your project or organization is truly ready to apply for grants. If not, my assessment will provide you with next steps and I am also able to help you set up alternative means of fundraising such as crowdsourcing.
I love to see people achieve their dreams, so I am also available to work with individuals, artists, and small businesses to locate and apply for grant funding if you are eligible.
GRANT WRITING PORTFOLIO
I have developed successful proposals for a wide range of funders, from city, state, and federal government agencies, to private foundations, local civic organizations, and corporate donors.
Since 2010, I have submitted over 30 state and federal grant proposals to government agencies with complex application processes, securing multimillion dollar contracts in early childhood education, foster care, family supportive/preventive services, juvenile justice, and immigration services. My successful proposals have also included programs in special education, workforce development, leadership development, nutrition education, arts programming, learning technologies, foster care and adoption services, youth development, support for individuals with developmental disabilities, housing development, and emergency relief.
I work with my clients to understand the challenges that they face, then compose a compelling narrative with strong support from available data and outcomes.
